About Us

About Our Farm

We are a one-of-a-kind combination of a legendary and historic Inn integrated with a full-service Equestrian facility, including indoor and outdoor rings. Few properties have history dating back to 1776 and the creation of the Declaration of Independence.

With extraordinary, farm-fresh and local ingredients, we provide one of the Berkshires’ very best breakfasts, beautifully appointed private suites, cabins, rooms as well as public spaces. Mixed with on- property experiences and many ways to explore the Berkshire mountains, the sunrises and sunsets, and our Flag Barn entertainment, the entire property will become a favorite. For many, including solo, duo and groups of all sizes, it is their secret tucked-in getaway.

We accommodate families with Children over 12 in our two cabins, #8 and #9. Rooms for Children under 12 are not available.

While we are animal lovers ourselves, especially pets, we do not currently offer accommodations for them. Registered service dogs, however, are allowed on property but must be leashed at all times. We appreciate your sensitivity to our guest’s needs.

Public Spaces For Our Guests

Library

One step down the stairs into the original library and you’ll feel the relaxation settle in. With stunning picture books to in-depth literary choices, you’ll get acquainted with the Berkshires. A fireplace, mantle and hearth will immediately grab your attention. With its equestrian art and fresh flowers, and a game area with comfortable chairs, this room will be a reason to return many times.

Sun Room / Greenhouse

For meditation or for looking out into the Farm, a dirt road up to the mountain preserve hike, the small details jump out. In the Inn, subtleties like hinges, drawer pulls, window and door latches, and perfectly blown glass windows, our Inn’s history is everywhere. A cup of locally-roasted coffee beans mixed with our secret local ingredients will lead you back for a second.

Dining Room

Daily breakfasts during the week are Continental-style including egg options, bacon, fresh breads, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit and fantastic local coffee. Saturdays and Sundays, our Chef brings her Italian NYC roots to the kitchen. It could be frittatas or wild blueberry pancakes. Or, her French toast mashup, or she may stop into her co-owned Homeplate bakery. You will quickly define our breakfast experience as one of the very best in the Berkshires.

What do you want to do?

Events and celebrations of all kinds, including corporate and group retreats, are frequent guests and trust in the Inn’s team to create space options and unforgettable moments and connection. Exceptional and highly unique for groups of 50 people for intimate and off-the-grid events, it can also provide space and amenities for much larger gatherings.

The Inn’s long legacy and 4.5 – 5 star Reviews from Google and Trip Advisor, brings confidence that you’ve chosen the right place. The cultural happenings across the local area, up to only thirty minutes away, provide the best cultural itineraries you could imagine. James Taylor at Tanglewood. Historic gardens. Edith Wharton’s homestead. Norman Rockwell Museum, The Berkshire Theatre in Great Barrington along with MassMoCA and the Clark Institute, and it’s just the beginning. The Appalachian Trail passes through. Beautiful vistas with the elegance and calm of horses within view from the entire property are a special feature for guests. And, if your calling is to experience them up close, we offer hands-on packages to bring you a connection you’ve wondered about or bring you back to earlier days.

The Inn and Equestrian team is staffed with highly experienced talent with personal ownership stakes in multiple hospitality and equine businesses. A peaceful and relaxing stay here is one everyone works for, aiming to provide the very best of the Berkshires.
